About

What this is.

A UK site about putting solar panels, batteries, EV chargers and heat pumps into normal houses.

Putting modern energy kit into a UK home is harder than it should be. Most of the information online is either thinly disguised lead generation or year-old blog posts that have gone out of date. This site is an attempt to cover the practical bits properly: what to expect, what questions to ask before signing, and rough numbers for how each bit pays back.

What's here

Reference content on the four main bits of a modern home energy setup: solar, batteries, EV charging and heat pumps. Each one has a topic page with the basics, links to the deeper sub-pages and the calculators that are relevant to it. Longer articles sit alongside the reference material, mostly about installs that have actually happened.

How we write

UK English, plain. We update pages when the evidence moves and put a date on the change. Where we have got something wrong, we say so and rewrite. The writing is meant to read like someone who has actually done the thing, because it usually is.
